First, you might be wondering, if you only have one child, and you don’t run, why on earth would you even want to consider buying one of these? It’s a fair question, but the answers contained below might both surprise you and change your mind.
Even if you’ve only got one child at present, you may still want to consider getting “a double,” both to simplify logistics if you think you might have another child in the near (or near-ish) future, and even if not, for the simple convenience that the extra storage capacity provides.
Aside from that, double jogging strollers offer the advantage of having relatively more storage compartments, and typically have easier access compartments (extra space for a spare pair of shoes, water bottles, and the like), that standard models don’t usually come with. Then too, there is the issue of durability, with the “jogging” models tending to be more robust than their more casual cousins.
If you happen to catch a model closeout sale at your local department store, or if a local shop is going out of business, you may be able to luck into cheap double jogging strollers that way, but be at least somewhat wary here, as many times, what you’ll find in stock are the picked over, or heavily used floor models that might not be exactly what you’re looking for.
Still, if you want to strike a good balance between landing one of the best double jogging strollers on the market and managing not to have to give up your right arm or several pints of blood in payment, don’t forget to check out online resources. Amazon and eBay are always good places to start when doing product searches, but don’t be afraid to hit your favorite search engine and just type in the name of whatever product you’re looking for. You might be pleasantly surprised at how many search results you get!
If you do that though, pay at least some attention to the site you’re thinking of buying from. There are a lot of fly by night operations out there that promise a great deal, but either charge your card and never deliver the product you ordered, or, when you get the product, it’s not what you thought it was, so if ordering from an online vendor you’ve never heard of before, do some basic research on them before you part with your money!
